I absolutely loved having this conversation with Amanda Marples. I had MANY questions - she was so generous in sharing her experience and expertise. Practical approaches which I hope will help lots of writers.
This has just given me some insight into my ASD son...he is struggling with getting assignments done on time, and then rushed when he gets a reminder. Time blindness makes so much sense! Now I know where to focus to find the right strategies for him.
I've never been officially diagnosed with ADHD but I definitely do the hyper-focus one and all the other parts related to me when I was in university. In my professional life, I've worked very hard always to be on time, to adhere to a schedule, to be ahead of deadlines, etc. Thankfully, I have adapted but I found it very difficult in grad school and undergrad. Thanks for sharing this interesting post.
Hey Elaine - chuffed you like the post and sorry to hear that it has been tough adapting to the systems we live & write in. If only the people who created them had a bit more empathy! Waving from Hebden to you & your Yorkshire husband 👋

Hearing about other people's experiences can make such a difference - I am so pleased you found this helpful in understanding your son.
