This could be useful if I use it to see if I can enter the Mslexia Poetry Competition. That won't be quite the 100 days and I also have the novel manuscript to get ready for mentor review and submission. Would be a great structure though because it'll allow me to be disciplined and we all love a bit of discipline!🤭🤭

It's exactly that - a structure that supports your personal goals. And you can go big on the discipline if that helps! BTW - ready for a chat when you are 🤗

Thank you Bec. I haven't forgotten about it, I'm looking for the optimum time 😁

I wasn't going to do it because I rarely stick through this kind of "challenge " and I end up being disappointed in myself. But I'm tempted. I have signed up for the LWS workshop and I'll decide after that.

Quick question Bec, have you done it every year since 2018 ?

And to answer your question, no I haven't done it every year and I don't always do it at the end of the year - my first go in 2018 started in June. I am doing it this year, but a super low-key daily notebook keeping version. I am trying to focus on practice rather than output (though I bloody love an output goal!)

The LWS workshop will be excellent and it will help you figure out if it is for you. The other thing with these big challenges is if you do them for a week or two, you often get more done than you would otherwise, so worth starting even with the expectation that you'll stop early.

Booked a place and hoping I can make the live event as travelling and that may not go to plan ( hoping it is recorded)

Yeah, you're right. It's a better way to frame it than "I gave up after 2 weeks, I'm bad"

Same here Claire. It seems too much but I find it difficult to resist a challenge!

You get the 'come-get-me' siren call of a challenge! Love to hear if you decide to.

I had so much to say - you should have seen the first draft of this post! I love what you are doing with your community for 100 days - can't wait to hear all about it next week.

I did a 365 photo challenge years ago. I loved it, but fell off track in May and never got back into it. But a 100 day challenge may be just what I need right now - one of my goals was to finish my novel by the end of this year but my progress has been inconsistent. I still have too much work to do in the time available to make finishing possible in the time that’s left (along with everything else I’ve got to do and not wanting to burn out), but an every day commitment will help me feel less bad about not reaching the original goal. Thanks for the suggestion!
